In order for students to be able to learn, our class needs to be a safe, inclusive environment. Ms. Bane has certain expectations for all members of our classroom community.

What does it mean to be prepared?
Students bring all of their materials to class. Students are punctual and sit in their assigned seat. Students bring an open mind to class. Students complete the assigned readings and come prepared to discuss them.
What does it mean to be respectful?
Students treat the other members of the classroom in a way that demonstrates respect. Students handle classroom materials carefully. Students do not bully, belittle or harass any other member of the class. Students realize that not everyone shares their personal opinions, and students understand that this is okay.
What does it mean to be on task?
Students are self-directed and seek out the digital agendas for information about their assignments. Students get to work immediately at their stations. Students ask for the help of their peer tutors or classmates before asking Ms. Bane. Students do not behave in a way that endangers their classmates.
What does it mean to expect success?
Students know that they are capable of achieving greatness. Students take the steps necessary to complete college-ready work by following directions. Students check their grades for missing assignments and ask Ms. Bane for help making them up.
Any behavior that violates these expectations will result in a consequence. Consequences include a warning, student conference/parent or guardian notification, parent or guardian conference, and referral to the office. It is up to Ms. Bane's discretion which consequence the behavior deserves.
