Questions for Ms. Bane 

 

1. Why do you teach English? 

I love teaching, and I specifically love teaching English. I feel that a strong grasp of reading and writing can really help students succeed in school and beyond. I’m very passionate about education because of the difference it has made in my own life: I can point to my own high school teachers who encouraged me to pursue my dreams, and I am where I am today in part because of them. I would hope that I can have that impact on my own students. 

 

2. Where are you from? 

I am originally from Encinitas, California (part of San Diego County). I now live in Los Angeles. 

 

3. What do you do besides teach? I love writing and reading, and so that takes up a lot of my time. I also love movies, comic books, web design, and music. I also have a dog, Auggie, and two cats, Yorick and Hero.

 

4. Where did you learn to teach? I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English Language Arts from Chapman University. Go Panthers!
